GBWA (Grace Baptist Women's Association)

Akeman Street Baptist Church is part of the Association of Grace Baptist Churches and all women's work at Akeman Street is part of the GBWA.

Annual Women's Ralleys, and Day or Weekend Conferences provide a wonderful opportunity for women of all ages and from different churches throughout the country to get together for an uplifting time of fellowship, prayer, bible studies and seminars to discover what God is doing amongst women in the churches.

Our representative to the organisation is Joan Eeley.

Joan is also doing out-reach into local Schools and is teaching 'Bible Explorer' at Broadfield School in Hemel Hempstead during the Autumn 2011 term, and at Grove Road School and Dundale School during the Spring 2012 term.

WOMEN'S FELLOWSHIP

We are a friendly group of ladies who meet on alternating Tuesday afternoons at 2.30pm. Although our Tuesday meetings are officially known as ‘Women’s Fellowship’, men are welcome to any event they wish to attend. We frequently have visiting speakers for our formal devotional meetings, which are followed by chat, tea and biscuits. From time to time we have outings to various interesting places and have a meal out.

ANYONE FOR COFFEE?

Why not meet with us for coffee and chat?...or stay for lunch?

Thursdays (fortnightly) from 11.00am. Meeting in various locations.

LADIES EVENING GROUP

Ladies at Akeman Street meet together and bring friends along to join in a fun activity.

We meet once a month, usually on a Thursday evening at 8pm, either in the church hall, someone's home or an external activity.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY

An opportunity to share, pray and study the bible in a friendly and informal environment.

We meet each Wednesday afternoon for a cup of tea from 1:30 to 3:00pm and have recently been looking at what the Bible says about how we use our time.

MUMS BIBLE STUDY

From 9:30 to 11:00am every other Wednesday, we meet for an informal Bible based discussion time, while the children play.
